MacRumors Music App Search

Apple is really cleaning house in the App Store as the company seems to have eradicated certain services from the store. There’s now an official Office application built by Microsoft for the iPad. When you look at the app, you can see that this is definitely a Microsoft product thanks to following the Ribbon navigation format, but it’s also distinctly mobile thanks to the touch friendly setup and spacing. There’s one catch to the happiness you may feel about the iOS 7 app – you’ll have to pay for an Office 365 subscription to create or edit documents.

Just like Office Mobile for the iPhone, the Office iPad app requires an Office 365 subscription to have the full range of features. The app is free if you merely wish to read, view, or present Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, or PowerPoint presentation. Editing those files will require a subscription to Office 365. The cheapest plan is $70 per year for personal use, but users in corporations or some universities may already have access through their Office 365 subscriptions.

Office for iPad is available in 29 languages and 135 countries.
