Apple CarPlay debuting at auto show this week and launching in new cars later this year

We've seen in recent weeks that using your smartphone while driving isn't always the safest or legal thing to do. Apple patents pressure sensitive touchscreens that show future advantages

Apple has received a patent related to placing pressure sensors in touchscreens to measure the amount of force a finger applies to the display. The patent would call for three sensors to to be stacked below the screen's surface at varying points or in the corners of the bezels in order to more effectively recognize gesture and intentions. Merging iOS with OS X is a waste of energy according to Apple executives

Don't expect Apple to follow Microsoft's move to merge all of its operating systems under one common interface or resource. Doing so would be a "waste of energy" according to Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of marketing. Apple iPhone outpaced Samsung Galaxy series to grab 42 percent of smartphone market

The end of 2013 was very kind to Apple, according to a new report from NPD Group. In addition to having a record period of sales during the holiday season, Apple increased its market share from 35 percent to 42 percent in the fourth quarter of 2013.
