A 10-year-old hacker who goes by the handle CyFi has revealed at DefCon 19 Hackers Convention a zero-day exploit in games on iOS and Android devices. Researchers have confirmed the exploits as a new class of vulnerabilities. The 10yr old girl from California found the holes around January 2011 because she “started to get bored” with the pace of farmville and similar games.

Sitting down for a chat with CNET  before her DefCon presentation, CyFi said, “It was hard to make progress in the game, because it took so long for things to grow. So I thought, ‘Why don’t I just change the time?’” Most of the games she discovered the exploit in have time-dependent factors. For example, planting corn might take 10 real-time hours to mature in the game. Manually advancing the phone clock forced the game further ahead than it really was, opening up the exploit.

CyFi has not yet revealed to the game makers her exploits.

The Chinese are probably not the most suttlest of People when it comes to ripping off famous or well know products but this time they taken the “Micky” out of the big Apple brand.

Chinese companies have long been known for being master fakers but this takes the concept of free commerce and copying to a whole new level. As expected, everything, from the architecture of the building, to the products, the T-shirt worn by the staff down to the logo and the badge design come from Apple.

A website named BirdAbroad has photos of what looks like an Apple store but was in reality is  a completely genuine rip off.

She did see some uncommon features like the fact that the signage reads Apple Store (or even Stoer), the nameless staff badges, the poorly made signature spiral staircase, the walls that hadn’t been properly painted and so on.

The author did not mention whether the store was actually selling real products (either from the grey market or those which fell from the back of lorries) or so called KIRF (Keep It Real Fake) products like the iPhone 4 (some with a normal SIM and running Android).

Verizon one of the two national carriers for the iPhone has confirmed the rumor of removing their unlimited data plan. Verizon will remove their unlimited data plan effective Thursday July 7th.

New smart phonecostumers will choose one of the following four data plan options: $10 for 75 MB per month,$30 for 2 GB,$50 for 5 GB or $80 for 10 GB. There will be a charge for over use of $10 per GB.

Folks who already have a contract with Verizon and upgrade to a smart phone after July 7th will be allowed to keep their  smart phone unlimited data plan similar to AT & T.The carrier is also rumored to lower prices for the iPhone 4 to 150.
