The Cellink I is a multi-functional power & media syncing device for the iPhone or iPod. It’s an awesome way to carry backup battery power in your pocket or purse.

It offers 600 mAh Li-battery for additional power. This is approximately an additional 40% or 3 hrs for the iPod or iPhone. However, if you take in consideration the size of the new iPad battery, it is over 11,000 mAh, it’s a minute size offering. I rather use this for the iPhone or iPod battery due to that reason. The Cellink-I could make the difference of having enough battery power to get that lifetime photo or video. It may also be used to sync media to your computer. We all know media takes up massive amounts of storage space. By having the Cellink-I on hand during an outing or vacation you can transfer your media daily to your computer without using all the storage space on your iDevice. This is reason enough alone to purchase the Cellink-I. I am so glad to finally have a device which I can carry in my pocket for battery reserve. I have never been a fan of the cases on the market which include battery reserve. They are just to bulky and pricey too.

Features:

The Cellink-I supports both the iPhone and iPod products:
1. Portable backup battery you can carry in your pocket
2. USB charger
3. Data sync cable and media transfer
4. Micro SD/SDCH memory card storage

The Cellink-I also offers a micro-USB slot for transferring media directly to your computer. The Cellink-I can be purchased at www.usbcelldrive.com for $54.95. Feel free to leave any comments below.

Thanks: Andrew

News from DailyiPhoneBlog.com:

I was really excited for the opportunity to review Eyn’s Eponymous case. This case initially caught my eye due to the flip top, the idea for this “Wallet case” was great, unfortunately the execution could use a little tweaking.

The bottom slider (where you insert your phone) is ridiculously hard to remove and I found myself shoving a fingernail in trying to wedge it open. I felt the cut-outs for the iPhone’s buttons protruded to far to access them with ease. I did however, like the wristlet but wish it had the ability to adjust, after all, whats the use for a wristlest if it can slip right off.

The money clip on the inside of the case was glued with a rather cheap compound and after two days of use and placing just two credit cards and a receipt inside, the clip broke off . I suppose it would not be a big deal to super glue it back in, but for 30 bucks, Come on!

To be fair, the case does feel good to the touch, made from high quality polycarbonate, it has a sturdy enough feel to it and seems that it would protect your iPhone well enough over time.

I thought the mirror, albeit not practical for me, gave it an appeal a woman might like. The case opens to create a stand which is a great feature for viewing movies. Although the case is a little bulky, I found it easy to hold in one hand and operate the screen. I don’t know if a rating system is in order, but I would give the Eponymous case, a 6/10. With a few adjustments, the “everything you need” Eponymous case could realize its potential to be a top accessory contender.

According to reports, Apple may be changing up the type of docking port to be used on the next gen iPhone in an effort to save space.

Those hoping for an implementation of an existing standard should not hold their breath though. Viable options might be a microUSB port, but the data transfer speeds would be way too slow. The new Thunderbolt would be another option, but it only has limited support. They may simply be cutting down the size of it’s current docking port, but whether or not it will still be a 30 pin connection is a mystery. The next iPhone would be the most likely candidate to introduce the new tech. Expect a slew of third party cables and adapters shortly after it’s official announcement.

Kickstarter.com is rapidly becoming one of my favorite sites. Browsing through, I came across yet another marvel, this one is called Devium Dash (just Dash on Kickstarter) being developed by Paul Lizer.

This puppy take the place of your old, outdated car stereo system and gives it a face-lift on roids. But more than that, this devicehas several more functions. It allows you to connect your AM FM audio (of course) and to run your music from your iDevice. Its also allows Internet steaming such as TuneIn (probably my fav) iHearRadio Pandora, Spootify and several others.

Theres also the option to run your bluetooth through the car speakers, and an external Mic input, this is great for me, finally I can get rid of my tape adapter.

Compatible with the 3/3g and 4/4s iPhones, iPod Touch, Nano and the Shuffle. But for a pledge of $3,250, the Dash team will custom make a Dash faceplate for the phone of your choice and if you live in Colorado, they will hand deliver it.

The Devium Dash comes with an app called “Dash” for landscape mode, which will allow you to place your most frequently used apps at the ready.

There is a car input to allow the device to communicate with your cars computer “Some simple information will be displayed along side the launcher; temp, direction, and song title.” states Lizer.

This is a great, cheaper alternative to newer vehicles which most of this stuff comes optional. Only 41 more days to go, I hope it gets fully funded so I can join the 21st century.

Let’s face it, how many of you enjoy having to add bulk to your phone with a case. Nowadays, it is seen that high-end mobile devices must be protected with a case, which just adds to the cost of running your iPhone. It’s a money making market, and many businesses are taking advantage of this whilst offering high quality, and some not so high quality cases to its customers. Whilst ensuring that your iDevice is protected, does it not just spoil the looks of that lovely, slender design?

There are many different products that are offered to protect your iPhone in today’s market, and some appear to be better than others. OtterBox for example, will provide three types of case, dependant on how much you want to protect your prized and expensive investment. The main Defender series, offers ultimate protection, with an inbuilt screen protector that doesn’t affect functionality or sensitivity, and 3 parts to the case which are “easily removable”. Whilst offering the type of protection that can withstand a small car, and being an OtterBox Defender user myself, it does have a large impact on the design in the sense that, although you have a multitude of colors to choose from, you can no longer see the phones original design due to being replaced with a silicone wrap and an inner-plastic case that is rather ugly. Many cases will also impair the use of a dock, and many times you will have to remove your case to dock your iPhone, which kind of defeats the purpose of a case?

Yes, I agree, there are many other cases other than the OtterBox; however I have used this one as an example which is known hugely throughout the consumer market and claims to offer the best protection. If we re-visit the original point of this article, would you rather sacrifice sexy looks for protection? Drop that phone and the likelihood is that your phone that you are paying $60 a month for is gone, smashed, and irreparable by Apples limited warranty. However, you may be offered the option to ‘trade’ in your phone and pay a cost towards a new one.

My personal opinion is that if you have insurance that covers your device for damages that could incur due to you dropping your phone, or it smashing on the dashboard of that brand new Audi R8 you just purchase due to the dock not functioning properly, then go for it, I wouldn’t use a case. But if your insurance doesn’t cover this, or the excess is too high, I’d recommend changing insurance or making purchase of a case that would protect your phone from everyday hazards. But still, a case doesn’t cover loss/theft of your iPhone, so the smart move would be to purchase some viable insurance that will cover your phone for loss, damage, or theft. Just make sure you read the terms and conditions of your insurance!

Pantone, the universal color language, has garnered quite a little cult following, especially amongst designers and those in the creative fields. Which is probably why I’ve been hearing a constant stream of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ at work after snapping this red guy on to my iPhone 4s.

The case is glossy with high-quality, vibrant printing and comes in a range of interesting colors. Like anything with a gloss finish, it’s a massive scratch and fingerprint magnet, but that doesn’t stop it from looking good.

The sides are slightly ribbed for grip and the Case Scenario branding is nice and subtle. All the buttons and charging slots are easily accessible, with not much bulk being added. You can even double up with a matching iPad or macbook case, although that might be considered a tad obsessive in some circles.

I’ve dropped my phone a few times with the case on and it held out fine, but I doubt it would protect the delicate glass back in a serious fall.

One downside I found is that the case doesn’t come with a screen protector, which really has become quite standard recently especially at this price range (€39.99 / $55). It’s obviously no deal-breaker, but hey, it would be nice.

Overall, it’s not the best case out there, but it looks good and it’ll have the creative showy types frothing at the mouth.

See the whole Case Scenario range here.
