<p>Great news unlockers! iPhone hacker called Loktar_Sun discovered and released a method for unlocking the iPhone using Sam Bingner&#8217;s SAM (Subscriber Artificial Module) package.</p>
<p>Check the video tutorial after the break.</p>
<p></p>
<p>This method was confirmed by iPhone Dev-Team member MuscleNerd. He announced on Twitter that he successfully unlocked his iPhone 4S.</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-47440" href="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/2012/04/22/how-to-unlock-your-jailbroken-iphone-with-sam/1-152/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-47440" title="1" src="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/17.jpg" alt="How to: Unlock your jailbroken iPhone with SAM" width="500" height="183" /></a></p>
<p>Sam Bigner confirmed that the unlock method using SAM also works for iPhone 4. We can expect new version of SAM that will make this process easier.</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-47442" href="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/2012/04/22/how-to-unlock-your-jailbroken-iphone-with-sam/3-126/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-47442" title="3" src="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/34.jpg" alt="How to: Unlock your jailbroken iPhone with SAM" width="500" height="71" /></a></p>
<p>Note: This method will work only for one SIM, if you want to use multiple SIM cards you must perform the unlock with each SIM individually.</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-47443" href="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/2012/04/22/how-to-unlock-your-jailbroken-iphone-with-sam/2-142/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-47443" title="2" src="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/23.jpg" alt="How to: Unlock your jailbroken iPhone with SAM" width="500" height="141" /></a></p>
<p>What do you need: A jailbroken iPhone that can be activated in iTunes (that is, not officially blacklisted), a computer with the latest iTunes installed and working internet connection. You will also need to know the carrier that your iPhone is locked to.</p>
<ol>
<li>Install Sam Bingner&#8217;s SAM (Subscriber Artificial Module) package. I recommend that you get it from repo.bingner.com since older versions have a different interface and may not work for this purpose.</li>
<li>Enter SAM by either going through the settings menu or find the SAMPrefs icon on your springboard. You will need to have the SIM card you intend to use in your phone.</li>
<li>Go to utilities and select &#8220;De-Activate iPhone&#8221;, your ActivationState under &#8220;More Information&#8221; should now be &#8220;Unactivated&#8221;</li>
<li>With SAM enabled, choose &#8220;By Country and Carrier&#8221; in &#8220;Method&#8221;; find your carrier, for some carriers operating more than one Carrier ID you may need to select &#8220;SIM ID&#8221;; easy to tell since iTunes will not activate if the wrong IMSI is selected.</li>
<li>Go to More Information&#8221;, copy or write down the IMSI in &#8220;SAM Details&#8221;, then tap &#8220;Spoof Real SIM to SAM&#8221;.</li>
<li>Go back to the main SAM screen and change your &#8220;Method&#8221; to manual. Paste or enter the IMSI string we saved in Step 5.</li>
<li>Connect your iPhone to your computer and allow iTunes to do its job (namely re-activating your phone), double click &#8220;Phone Number&#8221; parameter at the main device screen and make sure that the ICCID matches that of your SIM card. If not you need to start over from Step 1.</li>
</ol>

<p>Has your iPhone&#8217;s home button become less responsive? Does it take time for it to return to the springboard when you press it? A little trick that&#8217;s common around iPhone blogs has been proven to help improve the responsiveness of the iPhone&#8217;s home button. Note that this won&#8217;t rectify any issues that you may have due to the phone being dropped, and will only fix software related issues, but it&#8217;s worth a try!</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch home button has become less responsive, you can perform a software update on your iPhone. However, the quicker option it a &#8220;soft reset&#8221; type feature made purely for the home button. Simply press and hold your power button until your iPhone displays the &#8220;slide to power off&#8221; screen, then press and hold your home button until you are returned to your springboard. You may need to reboot your phone after this to see any improvement, but it will definitely improve the responsiveness of your iPhone&#8217;s home button!</p>

<p>Have you ever wanted to control your iOS device through your PC?  Many iPhone users who have, use software like MyMobiler (<a href="http://mymobiler.com/">http://mymobiler.com/</a>)  to control the phone through windows PC.  Here is one solution by <strong>veency </strong>(for jailbreak devices only!) that will do the same thing.  The only difference is that veency requires a WiFi connection.</p>
<p></p>
<h2>Step 1:</h2>
<p>Install <strong>Veency server</strong> on your device (search cydia for veency – it is the free one from saurik).</p>
<p>After installing, in settings you can find veency.  Enable it and set any password. You may leave the password blank but with 2 disadvantages. One is you leave yourself open to anonymous intruders and second is you have to touch the accept/reject every time you connect the device through a VNC viewer.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a rel="attachment wp-att-43929" href="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/2012/02/10/how-to-control-your-iphone-through-pc/img_0158/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43929" src="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/IMG_0158.png" alt="How to Control your iPhone through PC" width="410" height="614" title="How to Control your iPhone through PC" /></a></p>
<h2>Step 2:</h2>
<p>Now the rest of the work is done on your PC. Install a VNC viewer (TightVNC -<a href="http://www.tightvnc.com/">http://www.tightvnc.com/</a>) is my choice. You can install any VNC Viewer you want.</p>
<p>Run the TightVNC Viewer on your PC – it asks you for the WiFi IP address (you can get it from Settings &gt; General &gt; Network &gt; WiFi &gt; YourConnection &gt; DHCP) Make a note of it and input it to the VNC Viewer.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a rel="attachment wp-att-43930" href="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/2012/02/10/how-to-control-your-iphone-through-pc/img_0159/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43930" src="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/IMG_0159.png" alt="How to Control your iPhone through PC" width="410" height="614" title="How to Control your iPhone through PC" /></a></p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-43934" href="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/2012/02/10/how-to-control-your-iphone-through-pc/vncconnect-2/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43934" src="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/vncconnect.jpg" alt="How to Control your iPhone through PC" width="404" height="162" title="How to Control your iPhone through PC" /></a></p>
<h2>Step 3:</h2>
<p>If you set a password for the veency server on your device, it will ask you for the password – input the password and it will display the device view on your PC Monitor. If you set no password then a confirmation popup shown on your <strong>device</strong> which prompt you to accept or reject the connection, press accept and it will display the device view on your PC Monitor.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">
<p style="text-align: left;"><a rel="attachment wp-att-43932" href="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/2012/02/10/how-to-control-your-iphone-through-pc/vncv/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43932" src="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/vncv.jpg" alt="How to Control your iPhone through PC" width="227" height="167" title="How to Control your iPhone through PC" /></a></p>
<p>That&#8217;s it!  Enjoy the comfort of remotely logging into your phone via veency. You can view the screen, touch controls and even push the lock and menu buttons all from the comfort of your desk or laptop.</p>
<p>The controls are :</p>
<p>Left Click – touch the screen</p>
<p>Middle Click – lock button</p>
<p>Right Click – Home Button</p>
<p>Keyboard – Yes!! You can use the PC Keyboard to input the data to your device.</p>
<p><strong>As with any jailbreak related procedure, please use this at your own risk.  We take no responsibility for any damage incurred to your devices.</strong></p>

<p></p>
<p><strong>Requirements :</strong></p>
<p><strong>SyscleanPro</strong> (avaliable with insanelyi Repository <a href="http://repo.insanelyi.com">http://repo.insanelyi.com</a>)</p>
<p><strong>MobileTerminal</strong> (free from cydia)</p>
<p>Download the above two from cydia. Actually syscleanpro is not an application. It is a script, so you don&#8217;t see any icons in your homescreen. But you can see the terminal icon in your homescreen</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a rel="attachment wp-att-43649" href="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/2012/02/07/remove-unnecessary-languagekeyboard-files-to-increase-system-memory/img_0143-3/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43649" src="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/IMG_01432.png" alt="Remove unnecessary language/keyboard files to increase System Memory" width="410" height="614" title="Remove unnecessary language/keyboard files to increase System Memory" /> </a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Open terminal will show you <strong>yourphone:- mobile$</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Syscleanpro should be run in the root, so go to the root &#8211; type</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>su root</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Now you will be asked the password &#8211; type:</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">alpine  (not shown in the screen)</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">
<p style="text-align: center;"><a rel="attachment wp-att-43655" href="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/2012/02/07/remove-unnecessary-languagekeyboard-files-to-increase-system-memory/img_0145-2/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43655" src="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/IMG_01451.png" alt="Remove unnecessary language/keyboard files to increase System Memory" width="410" height="614" title="Remove unnecessary language/keyboard files to increase System Memory" /></a></p>
<p>This will take you to:</p>
<p><strong>yourphone:/var/mobile root#</strong> &#8211; here you type</p>
<p><strong>syscleanpro</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a rel="attachment wp-att-43659" href="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/2012/02/07/remove-unnecessary-languagekeyboard-files-to-increase-system-memory/img_0147-2/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43659" src="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/IMG_01471.png" alt="Remove unnecessary language/keyboard files to increase System Memory" width="410" height="614" title="Remove unnecessary language/keyboard files to increase System Memory" /></a></p>
<p>You can also remove the unwanted keyboards here!</p>
<p>Now you are asked to remove each language files individually. Keep your favorite language files and delete others.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a rel="attachment wp-att-43662" href="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/2012/02/07/remove-unnecessary-languagekeyboard-files-to-increase-system-memory/img_0148-3/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43662" src="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/IMG_01482.png" alt="Remove unnecessary language/keyboard files to increase System Memory" width="410" height="614" title="Remove unnecessary language/keyboard files to increase System Memory" /></a></p>
<p>after that you have to give a final confirmation to proceed.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><a rel="attachment wp-att-43663" href="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/2012/02/07/remove-unnecessary-languagekeyboard-files-to-increase-system-memory/img_0149/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43663" src="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/IMG_0149.png" alt="Remove unnecessary language/keyboard files to increase System Memory" width="410" height="614" title="Remove unnecessary language/keyboard files to increase System Memory" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Press <strong>y</strong> &#8211; will remove all the unwanted keyboard and language  files and freeup the system memory to 600MB! (for me). It can free upto 1 GB.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">After that, the script ask you to uninstall itself to spare some space for you <img src='http://dailyiphoneblog.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' title="Remove unnecessary language/keyboard files to increase System Memory" /> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a rel="attachment wp-att-43664" href="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/2012/02/07/remove-unnecessary-languagekeyboard-files-to-increase-system-memory/img_0150/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43664" src="http://dailyiphoneblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/IMG_0150.png" alt="Remove unnecessary language/keyboard files to increase System Memory" width="410" height="614" title="Remove unnecessary language/keyboard files to increase System Memory" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">go with <strong>Y </strong>and close the terminal will boost your system memory incredibly.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em>As with any jailbreak related procedure, please use this at your own risk.  We take no responsibility for any damage incurred to your devices.</em></p>
