
Apple has registered a new patent application, already codenamed the iKey. The technology allows you to use an electronic device as an alternative to keys, for example, to unlock a front door, gain access to an office or car door. The patent states: “The device can communicate with an external device to open a lock.”
Car manufacturers Toyota, Mercedes and Lexus have recently begun to introduce keyless access to vehicles via key fobs.
The technology used is known as Near Field Communication.

Virgin states:
“I don’t want to cater to one hardware or one software platform one way to another, and Flash eliminates iPhone users,” said Virgin America CIO Ravi Simhambhatla, in an interview with The Register. “This is going to be the year of mobile [for Virgin]
With more than 70 million iPhone OS users in addition to other smartphone users Virgin has made their website Flash-free. This leaves Adobe with some work to do to bring Flash to Android, Symbian and BlackBerry improving on the performance and battery problems that are associated with the use of Flash.
