2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa will be released next month for the iPhone and iPod touch, EA Mobile has announced.  The date of release is set for 27 April alongside the console versions.  No information on the game-play or review is available to date.

Apple has registered a new patent application, already codenamed the iKey.  The technology allows you to use an electronic device as an alternative to keys, for example, to unlock a front door, gain access to an office or car door.  The patent states: “The device can communicate with an external device to open a lock.”

Car manufacturers Toyota, Mercedes and Lexus have recently begun to introduce keyless access to vehicles via key fobs.

The technology used is known as Near Field Communication.

Foursquare gets a further update to the recent new version which included a new UI.

Virgin states:

With more than 70 million iPhone OS users in addition to other smartphone users Virgin has made their website Flash-free.  This leaves Adobe with some work to do to bring Flash to Android, Symbian and BlackBerry improving on the performance and battery problems that are associated with the use of Flash.
