Hansel & Gretel iOS App by Epic Tales is a wonderful selection for parents searching for apps which is suitable for their little ones.

However, Hansel & Gretel can be a bit scary for some children but is best suited for ages nine and above. Although, I believe much younger audiences will do fine watching the animated storybook. I think parents should make the final call as to what is best for their children. It’s not an extremely scary story but does speak of a wicked step mother and shows her leaving hansel & Gretel alone in the woods. So beyond that I don’t see any kind of real issues.

Epic Tales has done a phenomenal job recreating Hansel & Gretel graphically. The graphics in the story are completely breath taking and amazing to say the least. These are the best graphics I have seen anywhere on any iOS application. The only negative thing I see with this application is the lack of more interaction.

Hansel & Gretel offers a couple different ways to use the application. The user may choose to have the story read to one page at a time or the user can read the story as the words appear on the screen. The application would have received much better reviews if they had shown the words highlighted as they were being read aloud. This would have allowed young readers the opportunity to recognize words and connect words with different sounds. It could have been a great reading teacher by itself.

This application can be used on those longer car rides to help entertain the younger audiences. Most children around age five or older will thoroughly enjoy watching and interacting with Hansel & Gretel on iOS.
