Notification banners are a great feature of iOS 5. However, many people would like them set up a bit different. Mainly beause others can easily see them as they appear on the screen. Apple should have included a setting to allow the user what comes up inside the banner. Well once again the jailbreak community has takewn care of the problem. iOS lovers have the option of two different tweaks to choose from for this feature. The first one is called simplebanners which can customize title, icon, title, content, and sound. It offers the most customization. Watch the video review here for more info on Simplebanners.
The second tweak is called Minibanners which sets up everything for the user. It doesn’t have any setting to configure or customizations within the tweak. Just download it and your banners will only display the icon of the app which sent the notification. However, I do think this tweak looks much better on the smaller iphone screen. Once the banner pops up on the screen users can drag down the notification center to read the entire length of the text or pop up.
