Rumors about the newest iPhone start to ramp up

Four months after of the launch of iPhone 4S, rumors have now started the about iPhone 5, but what do we actually know about it?  The only known fact is that the website Macotakara (Japanese website) published that the iPhone 5 (or whatever will be the name for the new iPhone) will be launched this year, around September to October. This has caused quite a stir because Apple usually presents their new stuff in Spring or Summer.

In adition, it is easy to find a lot of rumours about the features of the new iPhone.  As an example, some people are expecting a bigger screen (around 4 inch), or a processor with a 32 nanometer dual core chip with a new graphics processor, and the possibility of eventually incorporate LTE.   Rumours also say that the new iPhone will have technology developed by Sharp in their screens to improve the pixel density and energy consumption. Although, all of this information is interesting and exciting, none of them are based on concrete facts.

Apple has proven this past year when the iPhone 4S was launched in a similar time frame and was able to sell around 4 million of them in the 3 first days.  Even more impressive is the fact that they sold 42.6 million iPhone 4S’ during the past year. It doesn’t seem like Apple would be worried about a fall launch for their next device.

Nevertheless, it is easy to imagine that iPhone 5 will try to stay at the top of the smartphone mountain, not to mention be the best in terms of innovation and sales.  We fully expect them to top their competition mainly coming from Samsung and the Galaxy SIII.

Almost a past year full of rumors about the new iPhone and the people were absolutely anxious about it.   Now just 4 months later the rumourmill is in full gear as the “next big thing” comes closer to reality.  We think that Apple has a clear marketing strategy sowing expectation and ensuring the future of it’s products.  They have mastered the art of building anticipation leading up to the announcement of their products, the iPhone5 is no exception.
