Is 3D really the future?  If it is, at least Apple is covering themselves on the patent front.  Recent patent applications show possible uses for an interface and gestures floating above the device.  Is this 3D craze getting a little out of hand or is it really here to stay?  It seems as every year passes, technology keeps getting closer to a Minority Report type of interface.  Whether something like this actually becomes mainstream and useful rather than just another fad, we’ll have to wait and see.
