Unlock you iPhone 4 iOS 4.3.5 with Gevey SIM

Did you upgrade to iOS 4.3.5 by accident or was your brand new iPhone 4 delivered with it preinstalled? And do you rely on ultrasn0w to unlock it? Then there is some good news out there, it’s been reported that Gevey SIM still works with iOS 4.3.5, so it might be a solution for you. But it has been confirmed to be blocked in iOS 5 beta 2 and later, so it’s not a permanent solution for those planning to update. And the method used by the Gevey SIM is illegal in most parts of the world.

To use it you need to place it between your SIM and the holder in you iPhone 4 and then after you’ve booted it up you – here comes the illegal part – call 112 (the international emergency number, in the US, Canada and Australia it redirects to 911 or 000) and when the call connects you hang up and toggle airplane mode on and off. Now you’re unlocked until next reboot, you lose network coverage for an extensive time or you change network. Then you’ll have to repeat the method again.
Note that using the emergency number when not in an emergency is illegal and might give you a fine and your provider might ban you from their network.

The Daily iPhone Blog do NOT recommend this, we do NOT support the use of the emergency number for anything other than what it’s intended for (real emergencies when the police, ambulance or fire brigade is needed). The Daily iPhone Blog do NOT take any responsibility to your actions, you’ve been warned!

  1. You don’t even need hardware to do the unlock, only for some basebands I found out.

I recommend checking out http://www.unlockinc.com I tried them because they looked legitimate and turned out they were effective and simple!
