Some queue for hours and some queue for days just to be some of the first to get their hands on a shiny new iPhone.
Those of us not lucky enough to be close to an Apple store may have to wait days, weeks or even months. Even if we do manage to get down to a store there is no guarantee that the product is in stock.
Many folk were left incredibly dissapointed after waiting in line for an iPad 2 only to be told “we’re out of stock”
The reasons for stock shortages is not just down to consumer demand but due to the numbers of inventory produced, packaged, shipped, and stored.
The iPad 2 launch was a shambles with many a buyer left with a non too pleasant taste in the mouth and for many this would have been their first purchase of an Apple product.
Apple can not afford to suffer the same supply problems as the iPad 2 so it makes good sense to wait and build up the required stock before opening the flood gates to the public.
