Review: Wrapsol Original Protective Film for iPad 2

When you buy a device that costs $500 + the first thing you ask yourself is how to protect it. I don’t like to put my iPad 2 into a case.  Most cases add considerable bulk to the devices and iPad 2 is too beautiful to be hidden. I use a sleeve or pouch cases to protect my device when I don’t use it or when I go out. However I use my iPad every single day and it “travels” around the house allot, and the back, prone to scratching, needs protection. So how to protect the back of the iPad 2 if you don’t want to stick it into a case? The answer is simple – Wrapsol protective film. But you may ask why Wrapsol when there are a lot of companies that sell protective films. They are my “first” love. My first Wrapsol product was for my iPhone 3GS, and after months of using the protective film stayed in perfect condition. I even sold my iPhone with the film on it. What I like most about their products is orange peel texture ( matte finish ) that the back part of the protective film have (screen protector is smooth, clean, no orange peel effect), it adds extra grip and looks great.

The Wrapsol Original protection kit came in a nice box. Package contains: front clear screen protector and a back matte custom-cut films, microfiber towelette, mister with application solution, squeegee, instructions with pictures. Application process of the back part may look a little trickier compared to installation of the screen protector because of curved edges of the iPad 2, but it’s nothing complicated because back part of the film has slits on the edges that makes installation easy.

I turned off my iPad 2, cleaned the back with the microfiber towelette that came in the package (I must admit that it cleans the back and the screen great :) ), washed my hands and sprayed my fingertips with application solution (its recommended to keep your fingertips clean and moist to avoid fingerprints on the adhesive side of the film). I peeled and removed the film backing, sprayed the film with the solution and applied it on the back of my iPad 2. Then I used the squeegee to push out all excess application solution and bubbles under the film. One tip, don’t press too hard on the squeegee when you push out the excess application solution stuck between the film and the iPad 2 because the film may stretch and overlap on the corners. After you’re finished with the installation leave the iPad powered off for 1 hour in order to allow moisture to evaporate.

I highly recommend Wrapsol original protective film for iPad 2. All cutouts are cut precisely to fit the iPad 2. Matte finish looks and feels great and will protect your iPad 2 not only from scratches but also from fingerprints. Adds much needed grip which makes the device a pleasure to hold and makes you feel secure that the device wont slip out of your hand. If you have a Smart Cover you don’t have to worry, it works without any issues with the Smart Cover. Every Wrapsol product comes with a lifetime warranty.
