Apple Sold 18.65 Million iPhones in Q2 2011

Apple today announced financial results for its fiscal 2011 second quarter ended March 26, 2011. The Company posted record second quarter revenue of $24.67 billion and record second quarter net profit of $5.99 billion, or $6.40 per diluted share. These results compare to revenue of $13.50 billion and net quarterly profit of $3.07 billion, or $3.33 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Gross margin was 41.4 percent compared to 41.7 percent in the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 59 percent of the quarter’s revenue.

Reuters: Apple to ship iPhone 5 in September

Apple’s next-generation iPhone will have a faster processor and will begin shipping in September, three people with direct knowledge of the company’s supply chain said. The production of the new iPhone will start in July/August and the smartphone will look largely similar to the iPhone 4, one of the people said on Wednesday.

Video: iPad 2 gap along one edge of the screen

iPad 2 has a gap along the top edge which tapers off at either end but it’s starting to collect gunk and dust already.

So I took it to Apple who agreed it’s not right, they had one more white 64GB 3G model in for exchanges and gave me that but I rejected that too because it had an even more pronounced gap but not as long just under the headphone socket. The Apple genius said he’d order another one in for me.
