The Novothink Solar Surge is one of a new batch of Solar chargers for the iPhone.  The Surge fits in a housing that carries the iPhone and only needs two hours of direct solar exposure to provide you with 30 minutes of talk time over 3g or 60 minutes over 2g.

Included with the Surge is a free Solar Planner app that estimates your solar usage.  For those of us in the UK who do not have too much sun, an additional USB connection is packaged so you can charge and sync your iPhone.

The Surge is available for $79.95 for the iPhone and $69.95 for the iTouch and is available in black and white, with new colours and designs on the way.  The Surge will be available in Europe soon at a cost of €80.
